How it works

What actually happens, step by step

No mystery boxes. Here is the whole path, including the parts that take time and the parts a clinician has to sign off.

How it works

Our precision treatment process

Hair is measured in months, so the plan is built around a year.

  1. 01

    Test and questionnaire

A painless saliva sample at home, plus a questionnaire covering your history, medication, intolerances and family pattern. Post it back in the prepaid envelope. Results come back roughly two weeks after the laboratory receives it.

  2. 02

    Your custom regimen

Your genetic report and questionnaire drive the formulation, selected from 11 vehicles and 62 active ingredients. A prescriber reviews it, a registered pharmacy compounds it, and it arrives at your door. Alongside the topical you get a vitamin and diet supplement plan, built from the vitamin, mineral and antioxidant results in your report rather than guessed at.

  3. 03

    Tracked, month by month

Apply once a day and log photos in your dashboard. Hair moves slowly, so we plan in months rather than weeks. Three months is the earliest point worth judging a response, and a year is where the picture is genuinely clear.

The test

A saliva sample you take once

The kit arrives with a buccal swab and a prepaid envelope. You take the sample yourself, it takes under a minute, and it is painless. You complete the questionnaire online at the same time.

The sample goes to our partner laboratory, which uses DNA microarray analysis. The laboratory reports 99.9% reproducibility on the genetic assay. Results are typically available around two weeks after it receives your sample.

Because your genome does not change, this is a once in a lifetime test. If you change treatment in five years, the same report still applies.

The formulation

Compounded for you, approved by a prescriber

Your report and questionnaire feed an algorithm that ranks the actives you are most likely to respond to and blocks the ones you should not take. That shortlist becomes a proposed formulation.

A registered prescriber reviews it. This is the step that makes prescription actives possible and it is not optional. If something in your history rules a component out, it comes out.

  • Algorithm matches your variants and history to suitable actives
  • Selection drawn from 11 vehicles and 62 active ingredients
  • Intolerances and contraindications screened and blocked
  • Registered prescriber reviews before anything is dispensed
  • Registered pharmacy compounds and dispenses your bottle
  • Reformulated if your tolerance or your results change

What we test for

Nine pathways, and what each one changes

The test reads 48 genetic variations across 13 genes. They group into nine categories, and each one moves a different lever in your formulation.

Governs how well you activate minoxidil and whether prostaglandin analogues such as latanoprost are worth including. This is the single most common reason a standard minoxidil course does nothing.

Panel composition and the nine categories are published by the laboratory that runs the assay. Your report shows your own variants and the predicted response for each active. It does not predict how much hair you will regrow.

The year

Twelve months, because that is how hair works

A hair follicle runs a growth cycle measured in years, so any honest assessment of a treatment takes months. Judging at week six tells you nothing, which is exactly why so many people abandon something that was working.

Your dashboard holds dated photographs side by side and tracks how much supply you have left, so you are comparing against a record rather than a memory, and you reorder before you run out.

Results vary between individuals. No treatment works for everyone, and nobody can honestly guarantee regrowth.

A realistic timeline

  • Months 1 to 2. Nothing visible. Some people shed slightly as follicles cycle. This is expected.
  • Months 3 to 4. The earliest point at which change is worth looking for. Photographs matter more than the mirror.
  • Months 6 to 9. Where a genuine response usually becomes obvious if there is one.
  • Month 12. A fair assessment, and the point to decide whether to adjust the formulation.
  • DNA microarray testing, 99.9% reproducibility reported by the laboratory
  • Backed by more than 50 published studies
  • Compounded by a registered pharmacy
  • Delivered to your door

Questions

The things people ask first

If yours is not here, the contact form reaches a person.

No. It is included in both options, because the formulation is built from your genetic report and cannot be made without it. It is a once in a lifetime test, so you never pay for it twice.

Stop guessing. Start with the test.

One saliva sample, taken once, that tells you which treatments are worth your next twelve months.
